Sutherland Glass Art

A master alchemist, Bryon Sutherland’s work is recognized for its distinctive color-combinations offering dazzling art that simply commands to be looked at. Inspired by California’s vibrant Mediterranean climate, Sutherland’s interpretations of natural forms combine elegant design with rich, vivid color creating original, one-of-a-kind, hand-blown glass art.

Upon earning his BFA from CSU-Chico, Sutherland honed his skills at Orient and Flume, one of the pioneering glass blowing studios in the United States. He later studied with and was invited back as a teaching assistant to Bill Gudenrath, master Venetian glass artist. He worked at the renowned Corning Museum and Institute before opening his own studio in the quaint town of Gridley, in Northern California.
